Cornwall Council: Cornwall decision-making wheel

  • Location: Cornwall

  • Purpose: The council is looking to reach net zero by 2030. Cornwall Council has used the Doughnut Economics model for all cabinet and council decisions since September 2019. The wheel is meant to determine how projects and decisions will affect the environment and people.

  • Description: The wheel has two parts. The inner part has 11 sections on social and economic issues and the outer part on 11 environmental sections issues like biodiversity loss and air pollution. The sections of the wheel are considered when making a council or cabinet decision and then given an impact number.
