  • Location: Lancashire

  • Purpose: With 13.7% of households across Lancashire living in fuel poverty, a figure that rises to 17.3% in some areas, the council has set up a £1 million grant to help low income and vulnerable residents living in draughty homes through the cost of living crisis.

  • Description: The £1 million grant will be distributed across the District Councils in Lancashire and will complement the existing ‘Cosy Homes in Lancashire’ scheme. The project will make insulation improvements and install efficient heating systems in homes with the lowest EPC ratings to help low income and vulnerable residents reduce their energy bills.

  • Funding: £1 million from the Green Homes Grant Local Authority Delivery Scheme

  • Conservative councillor/ council lead: Cabinet Member for Environment and Climate Change, Cllr Shaun Turner
