The ex-Greens who hate what Polanski has done to their party

While the Greens’ stance on identity politics may gain it seats in urban areas, some predict losses in rural areas, where environmental issues are at the forefront. Even the Tories, who sometimes share Green concerns on Green Belt issues, see opportunities.


“It’s a chance for Conservatives to win back some seats,” says Sam Hall, director of the Conservative Environment Network. “Environmentalism is a good fit with conservative values – it’s frustrating that it’s so often seen as a Left-wing cause.”
