‘Landmark moment’: UK wins right to keep sandeel fishing ban in UK-EU dispute

John Flesher, deputy director of the Conservative Environment Network, welcomed the ruling, but warned that as the prime minister negotiates a new relationship with the EU, “he must not sacrifice [the sandeel fishing ban]” and what he called “other Brexit freedoms” such as “our gene-editing industry, protect[ing] British nature, and incentivis[ing] tree planting through the Emissions Trading Scheme”.
