Responding to today's publication of Mission Zero, the independent review of net zero, chaired by Chris Skidmore MP, Director of the Conservative Environment Network Sam Hall commented:

"The review sets out an unanswerable economic argument for net zero. It correctly identifies the central importance of innovation, localism, and private sector investment for decarbonising the UK economy in a low-cost, high-growth manner. "While the review is clear that huge strides have been taken by Conservative governments, ministers must now heed the call to speed up action on climate change. Among the recommendations, it was particularly welcome to see the focus on removing planning and regulatory barriers to clean technologies and de-risking investments for businesses.”
