Location: Fenland District Council
Purpose: Fenland District Council became a part of Action on Energy to help its residents decarbonise their homes by boosting energy efficiency measures, cut emissions, and also lower their energy bills through decarbonisation measures.
Description: Fenland District Council, alongside other Cambridgeshire councils, formed the partnership Action on Energy Cambridgeshire. The partnership provides residents with advice on how to decarbonise their homes, such as through installing energy efficiency measures, which can help cut their energy bills. Residents receive practical guidance and advice on how to apply to funding schemes such as ECO4 and the Boiler Upgrade Grant. Residents can obtain advice from articles, online and at in-person events, including one held on ‘Working Together to Improve Energy Efficiency of Cambridgeshire’s Homes’.
Funding: The scheme is a partnership between councils that, through advice, directs its residents to funding they can access to install energy efficiency measures in their homes. The schemes, including the Warm Homes Local Grant and ECO4, are national schemes that receive money from the central government.
