Use water company fines to clean up rivers not balance the books, Tories demand

Kitty Thompson, senior nature programme manager at the Conservative Environment Network, said: “This Government made big promises to tackle sewage pollution and bad behaviour by water companies. But scrapping the Water Restoration Fund will take millions of pounds away from cleaning up England’s watercourses. Polluters should continue to pay to reverse the harm they have caused.”
