Responding to today’s agreement at COP27, the Conservative Environment Network’s International Director John Flesher commented:

“While it’s welcome that the world has again come together to reaffirm the commitment to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees, we still have much more to do to deliver it.

"The next few years are crucial for slashing emissions, supporting developing countries to adapt to climate change, and unleashing the power of free markets to drive clean growth.

"The economic and security crises the world faces mean that there has never been a better moment to move off volatile fossil fuels in favour of cheap, homegrown energy. It’s time for action.”
