About the event

Litter and fly-tipping undermine people's pride in their local area and pollute our natural environment. The economic impact of this waste crime totals £1 billion a year, with an additional £11.6 million a year on tackling large-scale fly-tipping specifically. Many fly-tipping and littering incidents could be prevented, so the amount being spent is an astronomical waste of limited local authority resources. Not to mention, each piece of litter that does not go in the correct bin is a material resource that has been wasted rather than reused or recycled.

Join us for our upcoming councillor webinar to explore the ways that different levels of councils can rid our streets of litter and fly-tipping, what policies and projects can be implemented, and how to engage your voters along the way, all whilst retaining a distinctly conservative approach.

Panellists include:

  • Mark Jenkinson MP
  • Cllr Martyn Alvey, Portfolio Holder for Environment and Climate Change at Cornwall Council
  • Helen Bingham, Director of Communications at Keep Britain Tidy
  • Aaron Patel, Head of Public Affairs at Coca Cola GB&I
  • Kitty Thompson, Nature Programme Manager at CEN (Chair)
