Sam Barker Memorial Lecture - Sajid Javid MP

Join us for former Chancellor of the Exchequer and senior Conservative MP Sajid Javid's lecture on conservative environmentalism in memory of Sam Barker, former Director of CEN, a passionate and effective campaigner on environmental stewardship who lost his battle with cancer in 2018. The lecture comes as the global economic race to net zero is intensifying, and the world looks to deliver on the ambitious nature goals agreed upon at the UN summit in Montreal.

For the first time, we will also award the Sam Barker prize for conservative environmentalism to a leading voice on the centre-right who has successfully championed positive action to restore nature and shown intellectual and political leadership on the environment. Following the lecture, there will be a drinks reception.
