About the event
In an era of global instability, highlighted by events in Venezuela, Ukraine, and Iran, we need to get a grip on our energy security and end the UK’s dependence on unreliable imports. To achieve this, we need to build more clean, homegrown energy, from nuclear to renewables, to power our homes and boost economic growth. However, with so many competing demands for land, how can we balance building clean energy alongside other national priorities like food production?
Embracing innovative, clean technologies, like floating solar and small modular nuclear reactors, will help the UK to produce more clean energy, while balancing the need for more energy with food production. Could these exciting, new technologies help address people’s concerns about land use and build more public support for energy projects? Can floating solar help deliver food and energy security? And how can we unlock clean energy’s potential and cut the red tape…
