About the event

The North Sea has powered Britain for decades and created thousands of jobs, but today it is in crisis. The North Sea basin is in decline, meaning domestic oil and gas alone won’t be enough to meet our growing energy demands and secure our energy supply. So how can we diversify our energy sources and restore economic growth to the North Sea?


Far from revitalising the North Sea, Labour and the SNP’s policies are driving forward the premature collapse of the North Sea’s oil and gas sector, with 1,000 jobs lost each month and new clean energy jobs not appearing at the rate promised. So how can we turn this around?


What could a credible, conservative plan for the North Sea energy transition look like? What role should renewables and nuclear play in the future of the North Sea? How can we revitalise this energy powerhouse to retain and grow…
