About the event

The UK is the world’s second largest producer of e-waste. As the rise of disposable electronics, such as vapes, continues, so does the problem of e-waste and the battery fires they cause. As the stewards of our resource security and waste management system, councils have a vital role to play in tackling the rise of e-waste and capturing economic opportunities for residents that reusing electronics provides. This makes it an environmental problem to solve but also an economic opportunity to seize. Join us at this webinar to hear how you can lead the way on tackling e-waste locally and ideas for campaigns you can run as an individual councillor.

Our panellists will include Scott Butler from Materials Focus, Antonia Grey from the British Metals Recycling Association and Fiona Dear from the Restart Project.
